There’s an abundance of Disney coming at us in the next few years, so I hope you’ve got your nostalgia glasses on and are ready to cry. After the announcement at Disney’s D23 convention that the leads for the studio’s live-action Aladdin had been cast, we were also graced with the news that the new clip for the upcoming live-action Lion King movie is apparently amazeballs.
Attendees at the convention were reportedly treated to the first footage from the new film, and it was of course the Circle of Life opening number, according to . I mean, come on. Is there anything more iconic?
The number reportedly featured stunning photorealistic shots of the African landscape.
Animals gathered to see the young Simba presented at the top of Pride Rock by Rafiki, all while the iconic song played.
According to Twitter, the audience went absolutely nuts.

I may or may not be listening to this on a loop right now, so no judgement if anyone started crying a little.
Tragically, the screeningwas only available at the event and won’t be released online. Us regular folk will just have to wait until the movie’s release in July of 2019.Two whole years seems unfair.
It was also reported on Saturday that the role of villainous Scar has been cast.
Hugh Jackman is going to step into Jeremy Irons’ fratricidal shoes (paws?), according to Screen Rant. Seems like a good fit for themost fabulously coiffed Disney villain.
Though clearly production has already started, there are still a few roles left to fill.
Donald Glover was cast as Simba back in February, and John Oliver was recently announced as avian majordomo Zazu. But the one that everyone has their eye on isSimba’s childhood friend and eventual love interest, Nala.
And you know who’s rumoredto be top choice?
