There’s nothing quite like the bond between siblings. Yes, you might argue a lot, but there’s nobody that can make you feel quite the same way that they do.
That’s why when one of Christina Michelle’s seven kids, her thirteen-year-old son Anthony, asked her to get him a Prince Charming costume so that he could surprise his little sister with a princess photo shoot, she was more than ready to oblige.
Anthony struggles with depression, and Christina said it has been a battle for him for some time now, and it isnt always easy for him to be light and joyful.
Enter Anabel, more lovingly referred to as Belle, Anthonys five-year-old sister.
“She is a carefree, effervescent, bouncing ball of sunshine,” Christina said. “She has a fairy like quality about her, and makes friends wherever she goes. However, her best friend is Anthony. They have an unshakable sibling bond that stems from the light that she bring to him when he finds himself in dark places.”
Anthony came up with the idea before Belle’s birthday because he knows just how much she loves to dress up.
He picked out both of their costumes, shined his shoes, proudly dressed up, and presented the birthday girl with her gown before letting her know the plan.
“She was beside herself with elation. She giggled through the whole thing,” Christina said. “Anthony was bleary eyed the whole time while she told him (and everyone who would listen) that he is her ‘favorite boy in the world.’”
Christina, who is the photographer behind Paint the Sky Photography, captured her kids’ strong bond at a local park.
“The photo shoot was probably the most heart warming thing Ive experienced as a mother,” she said. “He carried her from one spot to the next so she didnt trip on her dress, and she would giggle and hug him between every shot.”
“She felt like a real princess, and her happiness is easy to see in her face in every photo,” she continued.
She said shecould hardly finish editing the photos through the tears of pride and happiness.
“When they were done, they were perfect to me,” she said. “I am so proud of my son, his warm heart, and the spot in it that is reserved for his little sister. He amazes me and I am so proud of him.”
